Sheryl Crow, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter

Free-spirited, fearless and fierce, Sheryl Crow has garnered nine Grammy Awards; performed duets with musical luminaries, including Sting and Mick Jagger; released six studio albums which sold more than 35 million records worldwide; survived cancer; launched her own clothing line, Bootheel Trading Co.; and has performed for President Barack Obama! From humble beginnings as a jingle and back-up singer, Sheryl has reached the pinnacle of professional solo success, which is why she will receive a 2010 Matrix Award. Each of her six studio albums has charted Top 10 and earned platinum certification. The seven times platinum "Tuesday Night Music Club" reached number three on the list and earned her three Grammys - Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the classic, "All I Wanna Do." The album also featured "Strong Enough," "Can't Cry Anymore" and "Leaving Las Vegas." Attaining triple platinum in 1996, Sheryl earned the Grammy for Best Rock Album and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for "If It Makes You Happy." In 1998, "The Globe Sessions," which also went platinum, was also awarded the Best Rock Album Grammy, as its songs "Everyday Is A Winding Road" and "My Favorite Mistake," both reached the Pop Top 20. The new millennium brought platinum in 2002 for "C'mon C'mon," whose gold "Soak Up The Sun" peaked in the Top 20 and "Steve McQueen" again nabbed the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance Grammy. The 2003 greatest hits compilation and the four times platinum "The Very Best Of Sheryl Crow," was also a number two charter, featuring a the newly recorded cover of Cat Stevens' "The First Cut Is The Deepest." Her album, "Wildflower," which featured the duet with Sting, "Always On Your Side," went platinum in 2005. In her most recent album, "Detours," Sheryl explores both personal and global issues. "Detours" was produced by Bill Bottrell who last worked with Sheryl on her 1993 debut, the seven-times platinum "Tuesday Night Music Club." Today, the Kennett, Missouri, native is a passionate supporter of a variety of environmental and health-related charities, including the Feeding America, The NRDC, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The World Food Program.
